It has a spring like device that puts the seed down in the ground instead of cutting discs. ![]() I can only plant 20 to 25 acres per day.Ī friend bought an Attchison. What I don't like about it is the 7 foot width. It will not plant clover too deep because seed is just on the surface. I like being able to plant mixture of small grain, ryegrass and clover. I plants the seed by dropping between the drums instead of in rows so you get a smooth swath of grass instead of a line in the pasture. It has 3 seedboxes, 2 for large seeds and 1 for clover. It is 7 foot wide, has 2 drums with spikes on it, kind of like an aerator. My other drill is a Greenscape conservation seeder. To get the grass as thick as I want it I have to go over it twice at 90 degree angle like a checkerboard. Also can get small seeds too deep especially in sand. The disadvantage is the rows are 8 inches apart which is wider than I want for small grain, ryegrass, or clover. The advantage is 12 foot wide, can cover more ground. I can take the front opener discs off for sandy soil and clover. Should you encounter exceptions or worthwhile annotations to the statements made on this page, please contact us.I have 2 drills: a 12 foot Marliss no till that has openers in the front then 2 disc coulters, then packing wheel. Great value and a beautiful beast.” - Bryan Kabahar In an attempt to capture this sense of adventure, Rad Power Bikes developed the RadMini, an electric folding fat tire bike.” - HiConsumption “Having the ability to explore wherever you want at any time you choose is a wonderful freedom. I was sold the moment my foot hit the pedal. It’s a quality product that makes moving through the city pure joy. When space is limited but you need a workhorse, the RadMini is your go-to choice! With front and rear accessories, the RadMini can convert into one of the most unique cargo bikes you’ll ever see. The 4" wide fat tires make for an incredibly smooth ride on gravel trails and paved roads alike, and the 750W geared hub motor packs a punch just like a full sized electric bike. The RadMini has the ability to take on many tasks you would not expect from a folding bike. So, we combined proven features of the RadRover (all-terrain) with the RadWagon (cargo capacity) and folded into one ebike, literally. You couldn’t find a fat tire bike with the ability to haul cargo and fold. Let the accessorizing begin! I am finding that to be almost as much fun as researching and buying a bike.We built the RadMini because nothing like it existed at the time. They both keep the road grime off our bikes and our bodies.Ĭongratulations on your new bike. My bike has plastic fenders and my wife's bike has metal fenders. I have ordered the expanded platform from Rad hoping I can adapt it to my rack to help balance the load. Occasionally, I need to carry up to 80 lbs on my rear rack. I looked at some after market racks with higher weight limits, but I do not remember the brand. I believe it was standard on the 2018, but it only has a 45 lb weight limit. One of the reasons I did not buy the Rad was the rear rack. I have ordered a couple of helmet mirrors to try. Anything protruding from my handlebar grips is likely to get knocked off by a tree or a bush. I am stuck with the tires because I really need the aggressive tread on some of my rides. My rear tire developed a slow leak almost immediately, but I slimed both tires and they have held up fine so far. Inflating to max PSI helps, but they are still annoyingly loud. The Kenda tires are very loud, especially on asphalt, and the faster I go, the louder they get. ![]() There is a reason they call these bikes "hard tails". I put one on my bike last week and it makes a world of difference. It is a very comfortable saddle, but you were wise in ordering the Suntour suspension seat post. I do not have a Rad, but my bike came with the Cloud 9 Cruiser Select 10.5" x 10.75". Anybody like fenders from other manufacturers? I decided against the Rad fenders for now. Has anyone replaced those, at least on the front wheel, with quick release axles? Sources? Any reason not to? Any recommendations?įrom the photos, it looks like the Mini's wheels use nuts instead of quick release axles. I have read positive reviews on Topeak racks. The rear racks from Rad are out of stock. The mirrors that are on a long, flexible arm look OK but I wonder if they don't shake like crazy. On my Brompton I have a mirror that screws into the end of the handlebars, but that interferes with folding. Looks like the Cloud Nine gets good reviews but I found many models. For the seat, I want a LaZBoy, not a prostate exam. I ordered the Suntour seat post from Rad so that should help. I am also looking for a good, comfortable seat. My Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires on the Brompton never let me down! Is there a durable tire for the Mini? I will be riding on streets and mulch and gravel groomed trails. I don't need mud tires or really aggressive tread. I have been looking into tire replacements without much luck. I wonder if others could recommend accessories relevant to the Mini along with links? Not a ton of information out there and some of it seems dated. I have been reading about accessories and modifications. ![]() To achieve that look, I grabbed my flatiron to pass through each section again (though just once instead of the three or four passes I would do with a flatiron on air-dried hair). At the end of the process, my hair was straight, but not the silky, pin-straight finish I like best. "I needed 10 slow passes on each section of hair to get it straight, which took a total of 45 minutes. Like my fellow testers, I soon realized that the slower I went, the straighter, glossier results I got. With the same amount of hair as I would blow-dry with a round brush, I saw my hair dry within seconds of passing my strands through the clamps (with little to no visible steam). “Straight out of the shower, after a rough towel dry, I turned the Airstrait to wet mode and put it on the highest heat setting (275☏) and airflow. ![]() The idea of cutting down drying and styling time with the Dyson Airstrait almost sounded too good to be true. If I don’t have a full day to wait and I use a blow-dryer, my hair turns into a gigantic puffball, requiring many passes to iron it out. Before a flatiron lays its hot plates on a single strand, I've already endured close to 24 hours of air-drying time. “Getting my hair straight is a whole frickin' process. The Airwrap brush attachment also gets my ends straighter than the Airstrait did."Īssociate manager of special projects Talia Gutierrez before (right side) and after (left side) using the Dyson Airstrait. The Airwrap’s brush attachment dries and straightens my whole head in an hour, while the Airstrait takes close to two hours - and I would still want to go in with another tool for a smoother finish. “Overall, I’m going to continue to use the Revair or my beloved Dyson Airwrap. I kept thinking: The Airstrait needs a comb to clip on it to increase the tension and get better straightening for my hair type. "With the Airstrait, I also experienced that burning smell you get when using a traditional flatiron and, because there is not as much tension, the Airstrait didn’t leave my ends as straight as the Revair did. The whole process took almost an hour for half of my head the Revair took 30 minutes for the other half. The Airstrait got it a little flatter, but that’s because I used smaller sections and went over each slowly, two to three times, based on the tutorial I got at the Airstrait launch event. "After using both tools, my hair felt very similar on each side. For a high gloss, I had to go back over my hair with a traditional flatiron, bringing my total styling time to about 45 minutes. With my Airwrap or flatiron, I get a glass-like finish - I didn’t get that with the Airstrait. However, my hair was less shiny than I would have liked. (My usual routine of blow-dryer followed by flatiron typically takes an hour.) Even better, my hair looked like I’d gotten a fresh cut and blowout (mind you, I haven’t had a trim in a year). I chose the highest heat setting in wet mode, went over each section four or five times, and in 30 minutes my hair was bone-dry. Sure enough, it did exactly what it said it would. If I had just gone in and started clamping my hair through the arms, the roots would have stayed damp and lacked volume.Īs someone with long, wavy, not super-thick hair, I was pretty confident this tool would work for me. ![]() I found this rough-dry step crucial because the clamps were a bit too bulky to get really close to my roots. I discovered that if you hold the arms together and lock them shut, the Airstrait can double as a blow-dryer. Most of the Allure editors who tested the Airstrait say they noticed minimal steam during the styling process.Īfter towel-drying my hair, I gave it a quick rough dry with the Airstrait. To prevent the frizz, dullness, and split ends associated with heat damage, “a device used on wet hair would have to remove the water without creating extreme heat or steam,” Joshua Zeichner, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, previously told Allure. It's worth noting that the GHD Duet Style also makes a no damage claim - it does have hot plates, but they only reach 248☏, with airflow going up to 302☏. “Once you go above 375☏, that’s when a hot tool becomes damaging to the hair.” Remember, the Airstrait’s highest heat setting is 285☏, with a touchup boost setting at 320☏ (for use on dry hair). “At heats this low, this tool is unlikely to cause damage to even wet hair,” he says. But Evans from TRI Princeton thinks it's a reasonable one (noting that he has not tested the tool himself). As of press time, the brand was not able to provide information on the testing it had performed to back this claim. No heat damage.” That’s the claim Dyson makes with the Airstrait. ![]() I have made this biryani with both Seeraga Samba and Basmati rice, both takes the same amount of water to cook the rice.
