It isn't about making it so you can tolerate shooting the round it is so that you can shoot the round well. Just because the 5.56 round is light recoiling doesn't mean you should still get every advantage to effectively use it. muzzle pattern, intermediate target, shored exit wound, revolver cylinder gap, flash suppressor, muzzle brake, etc. You shouldn't completely disregard the idea of getting some kind of muzzle device that can help control the blast from the gun whether that means directing away from the ground to stop dust and dirt clouds from being kicked up or one that is completely designed to help mitigate recoil. A quality suppressor on an SBR will still out-last the barrel, even with a FH. Like the others said, muzzle brakes are designed to. muzzle brakes push the gasses to the side and back to reduce felt recoil, while compensators push gasses up to reduce recoil. almost all barrel devices cut down on flash by pushing the gasses in different directions, depending on the porting. if you are ever using it without the suppressor for added maneuverability or whatever other reason. the brake/comp on my AR totally eliminates recoil. Some big things you are looking at if you are shooting varmints or even just target shooting is that controlled recoil means you can make faster follow up shots or identify your hits/misses because you are back on target. Suppressors are wear items and a brake flat-out sucks when you shoot it inside of a car, etc. If you don't have to worry about mounting a suppressor any time soon then you are pretty much open.
